Battery management systems

Maximise the safety and service life of your batteries with our intelligent battery management systems (BMS). They not only reliably protect against damage, but also provide valuable data for optimised use and efficiency.

The Battery-Kutter BMS solution

Our battery management systems (BMS) offer all the necessary functions for the safe operation of your batteries and go beyond conventional protective circuits. In addition to protective functions, they record important operating data such as state of charge, temperature and charging cycles to ensure optimum utilisation. We customise the BMS for your application, taking into account your specific discharging and charging characteristics as well as the manufacturer-specific battery requirements. In addition, the recorded data can be read out via various interfaces such as SM, I²C or HDQ bus.

Functions and properties of a BMS

  • Voltage monitoring of each individual cell
  • Load control - preventing deep discharge
  • Control of the battery temperature
  • Passive balancing of the cells
  • Charge quantity counter SOC, SOH determination
  • Galvanic isolation of cells/interfaces
  • ESD protected
  • Communication interfaces can be parameterised via PC
  • Calculation and output of parameters: SOH, SOC, I, U, T via CAN, RS232, analogue
  • Temperature monitoring of the battery ≤5 points (operating range -40 °C to +85 °C)

Due to electrochemical properties between individual cells, lithium-ion battery cells behave in imbalance.The combination of individual cells leads to a significantly reduced battery life and even a safety risk for electric vehicles. 

The lithium-ion cell balancing management system is an intelligent integration of the monitoring and control system. It monitors, controls and influences the optimal operating conditions of lithium batteries within the individual cell in real time. 

The aim of our product is to ensure that all individual cells of the battery can work evenly in the process of charging/discharging, so that the improvement of the operational performance and a longer battery life can be expected.
