What are hazard alarm systems?

Hazard alarm systems (HAS) is a collective term for all types of alarm systems that are capable of independently recognizing dangers or reporting them via telecommunication technology. They are used to reliably warn and thus protect people and property against dangers such as intrusion, fire and robbery.

The term hazard alarm systems (HAS) includes the following types of systems, among others:

A number of VdS and DIN regulations must be observed for the installation and operation of HAS. If VdS certified systems are to be operated, these systems must be type-approved and may only be installed and maintained by VdS-approved installers.

Advantages of our SUN Battery

Sealed and absolutely maintenance-free

Utilising unique construction and sealing techniques, our SUN Battery batteries are completely sealed. The latest technology in glass fibre fleece prevents premature drying out and enables absolute freedom from maintenance.

Long service life

Thanks to the internal gas recombination of > 99 %, batteries from SUN Battery are extremely low-gassing and have a particularly long service life in conjunction with a flame-retardant standard housing material in accordance with the UL94 standard. The VdS-certified 12V batteries from SUN Battery have a service life (design life) of 6 - 9 years (general purpose) or 10 - 12 years (long life) in accordance with EUROBAT.

Cycle strength

Depending on the depth of discharge, our batteries can achieve up to approx. 650 charge/discharge cycles.

Wide temperature range

SUN Battery batteries can be used in a wide temperature range from -15 °C to +50 °C.

Storage

The batteries from SUN Battery have an extremely low self-discharge rate. They can be stored for up to 6 months at normal ambient temperature (20 - 25 °C). We recommend recharging afterwards - as before each commissioning.

Quality

SUN Battery batteries are manufactured to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards and have further accreditations to UL and IEC standards.

Reliability

Our batteries have been developed to work reliably under extreme conditions so that you can rely on your fire alarm system in an emergency.

Safety

Safety comes first. Our batteries have been specially developed to minimise safety risks and at the same time provide a stable source of energy - VdS approval confirms this.

What do I need to bear in mind with batteries for hazard alarm systems?

When it comes to protecting life and property, choosing the right batteries is crucial. VdS approval – which is often referred to as VdS certification in the battery industry – is a seal of approval for quality and reliability in the field of safety technology and is essential for insurance in the event of a fire. Battery-Kutter has the largest VdS battery warehouse in Germany. The VdS-approved batteries of our own brand SUN-Battery fulfil the strictest standards and guarantee a reliable power supply for your hazard alarm systems.

To the products

Why are hazard alarm systems important?

  • Early detection of fires: Fire alarm systems are equipped with various sensors and detectors that react to smoke, heat or flames, for example. They recognize fires in their early stages, even before they develop into a life-threatening danger.
  • Protection against intrusions and robberies: by deterring and alerting people in the immediate vicinity
  • Rapid alerting: As soon as a threat is detected, both the fire alarm system and the intruder detection system immediately trigger an alarm. This enables the fire brigade, police and other emergency services to be notified quickly, thus drastically reducing the response time.
  • Protection of human life: The most important aspect of HAS is the protection of human life. They enable the occupants or employees of a building to get to safety in good time if a fire breaks out or an attack is imminent.
  • Protection of property: Alarm systems not only help to protect human life, but also buildings and assets. A quick response can often minimize damage to property.
